STAFF
Paul was born and raised in Texas and has spent the majority of his life in the Katy/West Houston area. In 2012, Paul became Lead Pastor of a new church plant that merged to become Waypoint Church in 2019. Paul continues in this role as Lead Pastor for Waypoint today. He loves to study and teach God's word to train and equip people to develop a love for "the very words of God.' Paul is married to "the most beautiful woman" in the world, Marisa. In his down time, you can find him working with his boys on their backyard American Ninja Warrior Course or capturing date nights with Marisa. If he really has time, you can find him fishing for bass. Paul and Marisa have three boys: Kaleb, Caden and Grayson.
Randy has served for over 25 years in ministry with students, families and other areas of the church. God gathered a handful of faithful families in the fall of 2007 to plant a new church in the Richmond area that grew and merged into Waypoint Church in 2019. Randy serves Waypoint in the position of Connections Pastor, helping disciple and move people into mission and ministry. Randy is a graduate of Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Randy and Charny married in May of 1996. They have four beautiful daughters: Allyson, Ashley, Abby, and Anna Kate.
Ronald joined our staff in September 2021. He is passionate about seeing a church family love to worship together. Ronald is skilled musically and vocally, which are vital components of his role. Yet, it is the many other areas of skill and passion that portray the real heart of Ronald. He brings a passion for leading people in his corporate role at Insperity. He has a gift in his pursuits of physical fitness. More than all the others, he has a larger love for his family. The joy he has for life is contagious! Ronald and Mallory have three kids: Anna, Charlie and Caroline.
Eric joined the team officially in 2018 leading the Student Ministry. He brings experience teaching music and as band director in junior high schools in the area. As a gifted musician, he helps to nurture a heart for worship in students at Waypoint, and as a former public school teacher he brings a plan for helping families give guidance to their own kids. Eric is married to Misty, who leads one of our Gospel Partnerships in Uganda. They are involved in educational circles around the area, and have their hands full with five children of their own.
Kathy has led kids on our staff since Waypoint began and for many years pre-merger in one of our churches. She brings a wealth of experience in loving and leading kids from more than 30 years as a teacher and her own experience as a mother and grandmother. She is a servant through and through, leading behind the scenes more than most know. She tries to avoid a stage but refuses to miss a Kathy has been married to Eric for nearly 50 years, raising Tony and Lisa, more grandkids than we can count, and even more “adopted” children loved over the years.
Adriana joined our staff in 2019. She brings needed experience in financial reporting and accounting roles at Waypoint. Adriana also brings her heart for getting to know people and their stories. She adds balance to the staff using her strengths to tackle the details and utilize needed tools for organization. Waypoint is a better place because of her role. Adriana has been married to Charles for over 30 years. Their two children, Christi and Alan, are grown and carving their own path nearby.
Jill joined our staff in 2024 for a second tour of duty. She began early on Bethel staff in 2014 for years, making a move to the Dallas area in 2019 a couple of months after the merger. What a gift to have her return to Fulshear and the Waypoint staff in 2024. She brings 15 years of experience in church staff experience in financial, administrative and ministry roles in different aspects and church expressions. Jill dances in multiple brain-lanes that require creativity in graphics and social media, while needing details for ministry events and financial realms. Waypoint has her touch in places everywhere you look. Jill has been married to Mike for nearly 40 years. They have four grown children - Caitlin, Ryan, Alissa, and Jenna. One daughter lives in Dallas, three live in our area, with one who calls Waypoint home (Austin & Caitlin Throop).
ELDERS
Robert began serving as elder in 2021. He has a passion for reaching marketplace leaders as an entrepreneur himself. Robert grew up in the Richmond area, and now he desires to be a man of faith in some of the same corners of the community he still calls home. He and his wife lead in our Student Ministry at Waypoint and have helped to birth student bible studies and Step Out, a community-focused and student-led worship experience. Robert and Gracie have three children: Evan, Ian, and Lily.
Jay joined the elder team in 2021, bringing his unique humility as a leader to the team. Jay has years of experience in the bicycle industry with a passion for the outdoors. He leads in the corporate marketplace in his career finding ways to use his talents in arenas for mission. He serves in some rather creative ways with our Grade School Ministry as a recurring character in a teaching role. He loves to invest in others using his hands and heart and brings a growing love for global mission involvement. Jay and Lindsey have two kids: Autumn and Sawyer.
Jason joined the elder team in 2023. Jason’s unique story includes years as a professional baseball pitcher before moving to Katy over ten years ago. He works in the oil/gas sector in his career using his talents to complement teams. He serves in our Grade School Ministry with his wife, Rachel. He is a man with a heart to work behind the scenes. He has a heart for others walking in difficulty and is a blessing to our team. Jason and Rachel have three kids: Celia, Cannon and Miriam.
Cameron joined the elder team in 2023. He brings a passion for scripture and growing personally in his life and career. Cameron works as a dentist in his own practice where he must lead an office staff while delivering care for each patient. He serves in our Grade School Ministry and Welcome Team. He finds ways to make time for others at Waypoint even with a big family, and he exhibits a passion for families to find health in daily pressures. Cameron and Ashley have five kids: Emily, Austin, Luke, Kenzie and Violet.
