CHURCH/SCHOOL PARTNERSHIPS
Waypoint has a great long-term partnership with Wertheimer Middle School, a 6th grade campus of LCISD. Help in our mission to minister outside the walls on the campus in several ways:
Teacher Treats - we provide monthly snacks or treats for staff at Wertheimer MS. Volunteers can prep items, write notes, or drop off at the school.
Teacher Prayer Support - Volunteers can write or email a note to let staff know they’re being prayed for, even some specific prayer requests from our prayer box in the teacher workroom.
Student Mentoring - School staff can discuss options for this process.
For info, email Sunshine Deeke to help.
STCH Ministries
STCH Ministries has built a legacy of care for over 75 years through various arms of ministry like homes for children, homes for families, counseling services, international ministry and more. Waypoint has been able to lead local mission opportunities for students to their main campus and looks to continue more in this partnership.
STCH Ministries - Family Counseling
Waypoint partners directly each month with STCH Ministries Houston Family Counseling to extend a blessing to others. We provide a confidential space for counseling on campus, while STCH provides a professional counselor to walk with someone in need through a donation-based ministry. This partnership enables our church to play a small role in reaching those in need of professional counseling in our area.
Katy responds
Katy Responds was established in 2018 by a group of Katy churches and other local community organizations. After realizing that rebuilding our community from the devastation of Hurricane Harvey in August of 2017 was not going to be a short-term project, Katy Responds was formed. The importance of working alongside the city, county and federal governments in order to plan a response for the next “disaster” was realized. Though Katy Responds was formed as a result of Hurricane Harvey, we continue to work, plan and prepare for the next unknown storm to impact our community. Ron Peters, who is active at Waypoint, serves as Executive Director of Katy Responds.
FRIENDS OF NORTH ROSENBERG
Friends of North Rosenberg is one of the closer geographical ministries we’ve been connected with in seeking to love our community with the gospel. "Friends Initiatives” are one arm of the Attack Poverty ministry - and they aim to strengthen under-resourced communities through spiritual growth, education, revitalization, and basic needs. You can find doors to serve each semester directly with FONR.
CHRIST TOGETHER
Churches from multiple denominations are collaborating for the sake of the Gospel at the Christ Together table. Pastors gather most months to ask how our churches can work together to give every man, woman and child in our local geography repeated opportunities to see, hear and respond to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Align yourself to the heartbeat of Christ Together churches and pastors in your own life.

ALASKA MISSIONS
Kerri Howell leads ministry efforts in parts of Alaska through a local ministry organization. As an early part of our pre-merger and formative days of as a church, Kerri was a missionary we sent from our own seats. She is an expression of Waypoint ministry that we love to celebrate. Her faithfulness and growth God provided has allowed her position to move on staff now. What a blessing!
Kerri Howell has been serving on the mission field in the Far North in Anchorage, Alaska since 2016. She spent the last seven years working with a faith-based non-profit called Love Alaska which served marginalized people groups, including survivors of sex trafficking and at-risk youth. Kerri served on the executive team and as staff director, including direct client care on the front lines of trafficking. In the background, she has also served the last three years in her local church’s youth ministry, helping to get it started and off the ground. Recently, Kerri accepted a full-time position at her church, Kaleo Church, to provide both student ministry direction, as well as operational and administrative support for their small staff and congregation. Their student ministry, Kaleo Student Ministry, is young but growing and maturing under her leadership.
